You can make a Laser Engraver Machine by yourself in Easy way

This Laser Engraver is awesome for homemade project. If you are willing to One of yours, You are at Right place. Laser Engraver is CNC machine based project which is Run by Ardiuno Micro-controller. It consists of Stepper motor, Arduino Circuit, Power supply, Laser module etc. The Laser is control by irfz44n MOSFET and The stepper through A4988 Driver. It can Engrave on Metal, Wood, Paper and many more.. Now follow the Procedure to Build One….

BASE PREPARATION

MDF Board is the most suitable for Preparing Base, Here I am using 10mm MDF board otherwise you can use good quality wood for it, MDF board size- length 25mm X width 20mm.

COOLING FAN

We are going to use DVD drive stepper motor but the motor will heat up during engraving because it is not designed for this type of DIY works, over heat may cause the motor burnt. So we are going to use a cooling fan for decrease the motor heat. The cooling fan needs 12V input so we are going to connect it to the power supply.

Make four screw hole on the MDF board and screw the Cooling fan.

STEPPER SLIDER

Here is the 80mm stepper slider which is most suitable for our project, the motor is dual coil system means it has bipolar system, dual coil is consist of two copper wire with four terminal, you need a A4988 stepper driver to run this motor and The maximum linear speed is 25mm per second.

Note- Don’t connect the motor directly to the power supply, It will burn the circuit.

BED PREPARATION

You need an even and clean material for engraving bed, Here I am using 3mm transparent acrylic sheet for bed which size is 10mm X 10mm.

Y AXIS

Y axis has single slider motor, In the X axis we used two motor because of getting good alignment during engraving but in Y axis It will handle the laser module only so you don’t need to add extra motor.

LASER HOLDER

Here I am using 20X20X20mm pine wood to make laser holder, make a hole according to size of your laser module and fit it to the Y axis stepper motor.

LASER MODULE

The focused 250mW laser module is suitable for our project but you can use also 500mW for this project but you need to careful to drive this or wear a safety glass.

Note:
1.This laser module has high output power,please wear goggles when testing or using.
2.The red cord is anode,the black cord is cathode.

12V 5amps power supply is adequate for run th whole project just attach on the base and screw it

PREPARING CIRCUIT

REQUIRED MATERIALS

ARDUINO NANO 328P
IRFZ44N MOSFET
7805 TRANSISTOR
CAPACITOR 1000uf
A4988 DRIVER
RESISTOR 47ohm and 10K

Now follow the circuit diagram and arrange all the parts one by one and solder them easily.

Now our circuit is ready to work just attach it on the base and make all the pin connections help of above circuit

Download this file just click the Download Button and navigate this path to get arduino code
grbl.zip\grbl\examples\grblUpload\grblUpload.ino

Note- The Code is only has Header file so You do not need to Edit the code, Just Upload it to the board.

SOFTWARE

If you want to Run the machine Just download this Software and connect your Project through suitable com port, Import an Image file and Start Engraving.

NOTE- Must adjust the focal length of the Laser to get Best result
